Following a letter from Assam's Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has updated the exam centres for some students in Assam taking the CUET.
The NTA has announced that the CUET exams scheduled for May 29 in Silchar, Assam, will now be held in a pen and paper (OMR-based) format. This applies to the Bengali (104) and Environmental Studies (307) exams.
Important Instructions
Students scheduled to take these exams in Silchar are advised not to travel outside the city. Updated admit cards will be available soon on the official CUET UG 2024 website: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.
This change benefits students who initially chose Silchar as their exam centre but received admit cards for different cities due to logistical issues. Students who have already traveled to their designated exam cities can still take the CBT mode exam on May 24 as originally planned.
The NTA encourages all affected students to take advantage of this revised opportunity to ensure they can attend their exams.
Earlier this week, Minister Pegu highlighted that there was only one CUET exam centre in Silchar, causing difficulties for Assam students who had to travel far for the CUET UG 2024 exams.
The CUET exams started on May 15 and will conclude today, May 24. However, exams in Delhi and Kanpur will be held separately on May 29.
