CUET-UG 2025 Exams Delayed, New Schedule Begins May 13

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate programmes, which was earlier scheduled by the National Testing Agency (NTA), has been postponed. According to information received, the official announcement is likely to be made today.

Sources said that CUET-UG 2025, which is conducted under the National Testing Agency, will now begin from May 13.

According to media reports, the NTA has informed the University Grants Commission (UGC) of its inability to conduct the exam as per the previously scheduled timetable.

A meeting is expected between the two organisations today, in which the revised schedule will be decided. After the meeting is over, the new dates will be announced.

It is being said that the delay is due to the agency's recent focus on conducting the NEET-UG exam, which took place last Sunday. CUET is conducted by the NTA on behalf of the UGC.

Due to the delay, lakhs of candidates are waiting for updates, including the release of city information slips, which provide information about the exam centres and dates.

This year, CUET will be conducted in a completely computer-based format. There will be 37 subjects, each paper will be of 60 minutes duration and will have 50 multiple choice questions.

The number of shifts per day may vary depending on the centre availability, but two to three shifts are expected.

Unlike previous years, no formal date sheet has been released this time. Instead, NTA is expected to share the exam dates directly through the city slip, which will also give candidates an idea of their allotted locations.

The lack of clarity has caused anxiety among many students and parents, especially in matters of travel and accommodation.

CUET-UG will be conducted in 13 Indian languages. These include English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and others. Candidates are reminded to follow the instructions given in the official bulletin published on the agency's website.

Although there is no age limit to appear for CUET-UG, applicants must fulfil the age rules of the specific university they are applying to.
