Students who took the Accountancy paper between May 13 and 16 during CUET UG 2025 have got a big relief. NTA has announced that these students can retain their existing marks or re-appear for the exam as per the revised exam pattern.
The revised pattern of CUET UG 2025 Accountancy paper has come into effect from May 22, 2025. Now candidates can choose from Unit V: Computerized Accounting System or Optional Unit. Earlier Unit V was compulsory, which caused difficulty to those students who were weak in computerized accounting. The new pattern gives them relief.
The revised CUET UG 2025 Accountancy paper aims to give flexibility to the students and improve the exam according to their strong abilities. The official notice of NTA states that this change has been implemented in consultation with subject experts so that the exam can be more equitable and balanced for the students.
CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper: Retest Option
Students who appeared for the Accountancy paper between May 13 and 16 can retest the exam before the revised format comes into effect.
1. The Retest Score is Final
If a student wishes to retest, the new score obtained will be considered final. This means that the old score, whether better or worse, will not be valid.
2. No Marks for Absence
Students who apply for retest but do not appear for the exam will be marked as ‘absent’ in that subject and will not be awarded any marks.
3. No Action Required to Retain Score
For students who do not wish to retest, their previous score from May 13 to 16 will be considered final. They need not do anything.
In short, the new score will count for students who re-appear, and the old scores will hold for those who do not.
Students who wish to re-appear for the CUET UG 2025 Accountancy paper must complete their application by 1 pm on May 23, 2025, from the link available on the official website of NTA. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
The decision to bring flexibility in the Accountancy paper has been taken following concerns raised by students during the first phase of the exam. Candidates are advised to review the updated syllabus and understand the revised pattern thoroughly before deciding to retake the paper.
Those considering re-appearing should carefully evaluate their performance in the earlier exam and stay updated by regularly checking the official CUET UG website.
