CUET UG 2025: NTA Updates Exam Pattern, Accountancy Paper to Include Optional Questions

For students taking the CUET UG 2025 in Accountancy, there’s been a change in the question paper format. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially revised the structure to better align with the prescribed syllabus and design framework. CUET UG, which began on May 13, is still underway and will continue until June 3.

So, what’s new? From May 22 onwards, the Accountancy paper will offer students a choice between questions from Unit 5 or an alternative set of Unit 5-based questions. Meanwhile, the rest of the paper will stick to content from Units 1 to 4, just like before.

But here’s where it gets interesting—for candidates who already took the Accountancy paper between May 13 and May 16, NTA is giving an option. They can either keep their original attempt or retake the test under the new format. This choice will be offered through the official portal, though detailed instructions are still awaited.

What else is happening?

NTA also canceled exams held at KITE Polytechnic in Rangreth, Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) due to technical problems. This impacted over 76 students who were scheduled in Shift II on May 13 and both shifts on May 14. Fresh dates haven’t been released yet, but new admit cards will be issued soon.

As a reminder, CUET UG 2025 is being conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. It includes 13 language papers, 23 domain-specific subjects, and a general test, making up 37 papers in total. Exams are being held in multiple shifts across India and a few international centers.
