The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional answer key of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Candidates dissatisfied with the provisional answer key can raise objections by paying a processing fee of ₹ 200 per question till 5 pm on July 9.
NTA announced the release of the provisional answer key and shared the notification saying, "The NTA website is up and running. Since it is witnessing a lot of activity, there may be a slight delay in the response. Patrons are requested to be patient. Candidates may login with their credentials at https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG to view the OMR sheets and responses. Challenges will remain open till 5 PM on July 9."

CUET UG 2024: Challenge Processing Fee
The notification states that candidates will be allowed to raise online challenges against the provisional answer key by paying a non-refundable processing fee of ₹ 200/- for each answer challenged within the specified period. Candidates can also submit representations against OMR grading by paying a non-refundable processing fee of ₹ 200/- for each question challenged.
The processing fee for challenge against the answer key can be paid through debit card, credit card or net banking till July 9, 2024 (till 6:00 PM).
CUET UG 2024: Step-by-step guide to challenge CBT exam answer key
- Visit the official website of CUET UG 2024: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/
- Login with application number and date of birth; enter the security pin displayed, and click on the login button.
- Click on the 'View/Challenge Answer Key' button.
- The options given next to the question ID under the 'Correct Option' column indicate the most appropriate answer key used by NTA.
- You can use any one or more of the options given in the next five columns by clicking on the check box to challenge this option
- Upload supporting documents by selecting 'Choose File' (all documents are to be put in a single PDF file).
- After clicking on the option ID you want to challenge, scroll down and click on 'Submit and Review Claim'
- Make sure to select all the required options before proceeding.
- You will see all your question IDs and options
- challenged.
- The candidate can still modify his/her selection by clicking on 'Modify Claim'.
- After selecting all the option IDs to challenge, click on 'Save Claim & Pay Fee'.
- Candidates must note that on clicking the 'Save Claim & Pay Fee' option, no modification will be allowed after payment.
- Choose the mode of payment and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200/- for each challenged question.
- Candidates can make payment through Debit, Credit Card or Net Banking.
CUET UG 2024: Step-by-step Guide to Challenge Pen and Paper (offline mode) Exam Answer Key
- Visit the official website: exam.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/
- Click on 'Apply for Answer Key Challenge'
- Log in with your application number and date of birth, enter the displayed security pin and submit.
- The candidate will see his/her subject displayed on the right side of the screen.
- Click on the 'View' icon mentioned along with the subject to view your OMR answer sheet
- To challenge any question of that subject, the candidate has to click on 'Challenge Answer Key (OMR)' where you will see the question numbers of the subject for which you want to challenge the answer key.
- The number next to the question under the 'Correct Option/Answer' column indicates the most appropriate answer key decided by NTA.
- If you wish to challenge this option, you can use any one or more of the options given in the next four columns by clicking on the check box.
- Upload supporting documents by selecting 'Choose File' (all documents are to be put in a single PDF file).
- After clicking on the desired option for your subject for CUET (UG) – 2024, click on 'Save your claim' and proceed to the next screen.
- You will see a screen displaying your challenges.
- Click on 'Save your claim and finally pay the fee'.
- Choose the mode of payment and pay the processing fee of ₹ 200/- for each challenged question. Make the payment through debit, credit card or net banking.
- After successful payment, download/print the answer key challenge receipt.
The processing fee can be paid by July 9, 2024 (by 06:00 PM).
The notification further states that candidates should note that no challenge will be considered without the receipt of the processing fee. Challenges through any other mode will not be accepted.
This year, the NTA conducted the CUET-UG exams from May 15 to May 29 in hybrid mode (CBT and pen-paper) at various exam centres across 379 locations. Around 13.48 lakh students appeared for the exam.
It is important to note that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a national level exam conducted by the NTA and is a prerequisite for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various central and participating universities. A total of 261 universities will accept the CUET UG 2024 score.
