WBJEE Eligibility 2023: Age Limit and Academic Requirements
To be eligible for the courses offered through WBJEE 2023, candidates must meet certain criteria. Here are the details:
Age Limit: Candidates must be born on or before December 31, 2005, to be eligible for all the courses under WBJEE 2023. The lower age limit is 17 years as of December 31, 2022. There is no upper age limit to apply for WBJEE 2023, except for the Marine Engineering course, where the upper age limit is 25 years.
Academic Requirements: Candidates must have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% marks or an equivalent qualification examination. Candidates appearing for the Class 12th examination in 2023 are also eligible, provided they pass the qualifying examination with the required minimum marks.
Engineering Courses Eligibility: Compulsory courses in Class 12th: Physics and Mathematics, along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Technical Vocational Subject. Minimum Marks: Candidates must have obtained 45% marks in the above three subjects combined. For reserved category candidates, the minimum required marks are 40%. English: Candidates must have passed English with at least 30% marks. Board of Qualifying Examination: Any board recognized by the Central or State Government.
Pharmacy Courses Eligibility: Compulsory courses in Class 12th: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Minimum Marks: Candidates must have obtained 45% marks in the above three subjects combined. For reserved category candidates, the minimum required marks are 40%. English: Candidates must have passed English with at least 30% marks. Board of Qualifying Examination: Any board recognized by the Central or State Government, except for candidates with non-formal, irregular class mode, non-classroom based schooling, open school learning, or distance education.
Domicile/Residential Requirement: Candidates must be citizens of India, and candidates from any state are eligible to apply. Domicile certificate is applicable only for admission to government participating institutes and to claim WBJEE Reservation. There is no particular residential/domicile requirement to appear in WBJEE 2023. The state domicile requirement is applicable for seats under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW). A candidate is considered a domicile of West Bengal if they have resided in West Bengal for the last 10 years by December 12, 2021, or if their parent(s) are residents with a permanent address within the state.
