MP Board Book for class 11th Mathematics Chapter 3- Trigonometric Functions
In this chapter we would like to discuss the main definitions and formulas so that students can get an idea of the chapter. The word trigonometry means measuring the sides of a triangle. It is mainly to solve geometric problems and shapes.
Angles-
Angle is a figure which is formed with the help of two rays whose endpoint is the same and it forms a curve, which is called an angle. The starting point of the side is called the initial side and the final position of the terminal side of the triangle.
Degree-
It is the angle in which two rays are made up and to a certain degree is made up. Degrees which can be made up are 360, 180, 270, 420, 90, 60 etc.
Radian Measure- There is another unit for measurement of an angle which is called radian measure. Radian measure and real numbers are considered to be one and are considered the same.
30= 3.14/ 6
45=3.14/4
60=3.14/3
90= 3.14/2
180= 3.14
270=3*3.14/2
360= 2*3.14
Radian measure= 3.14/180 * Degree Measure
Degree measure= 180/ 3.14 * radian measure
Functions-
Sin= p/h
Cos= b/h
Tan = p/b
Csa= h/p
Sec= h/b
Cot= b/p
Very interesting part of trigonometry started in India during the time period of the great mathematician aryabhatta. In this chapter we will learn about all the trigonometric definitions and important formulas regarding the chapter. In the last page of the book all the formulas are written as a summary.
