• Two figures are congruent if both the figures have the same size and same shape.
• Figures on the same base and between the same parallels.
• Parallelograms on the same base and between the same parallels.

Theorems- 

• Parallelograms on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area.
• Two triangles on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area.
• Two triangles having the same base and equal area lie between the same parallel.
• A median of a triangle divides into triangles of equal areas.
• Area of the triangles is equal to half the product of the base and its corresponding altitude.
