If you are preparing for CAT 2025, it is important to first ensure that you meet its eligibility criteria. Although the official guidelines will be released closer to the exam, based on previous years, we have explained the possible eligibility criteria of CAT 2025 here in simple language.
1. Educational Qualification
- General, EWS and OBC-NCL category candidates must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- SC, ST and PwD category candidates require a minimum of 45% marks.
2. Final-Year Students
- Students who are in the final year of graduation or awaiting results can also apply for CAT 2025.
- But such candidates must meet the required minimum marks eligibility by the time of admission, otherwise the admission may be cancelled.
3. Professional Degree Holders
- Candidates who have a professional degree like CA (Chartered Accountancy), CS (Company Secretary), ICWA (Cost Accounting) or FIAI are also eligible for CAT 2025, provided they meet the minimum marks conditions.
4. Age Limit
- There is no age limit for CAT 2025.
- However, having a bachelor's degree is mandatory.
5. Work Experience
- Work experience is not mandatory for CAT application.
- However, work experience may be given additional preference in the selection process at IIMs.
Important Note
- Students with backlog can also apply, but they have to pass all the subjects at the time of the selection process.
