The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an important exam for engineering students in India. As of now, the GATE cutoff 2025 is yet to be released. However, candidates can refer to the previous year's GATE cutoff while awaiting the official update.
What Are Cutoff Marks?
Cutoff marks are the lowest scores you need to pass the exam and move forward in the admission process. These marks are different for various groups, such as General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections). The cutoff marks act as a guide to show which students can apply for different master’s programs.
There are two types of GATE Cutoff Released
- The cutoff released by GATE conducting body is the qualifying GATE cutoff, i.e., minimum scores required by candidates to qualify the GATE paper.
- Each of participating institutes release a separate admission GATE cutoff i.e., the minimum cutoff required for admission to the respective college.
