When elections get over, the political party which has won the majority or if two or more parties have aligned together to form the majority are invited to form a government. The Government thus formed make policies, implement programmes and hold affairs through its ministers.

Bahujan Samaj Party is a national political party in India and was formed in 1984. It was founded by Kanshi Ram. The core support group of the BSP consists primarily of the Dalits. The word 'Bahujan' literally means 'the majority of the people' and 'samaj' means 'society'.

A multiparty system in a democracy is a system where there are many political parties and they compete for power, take part in national election. In such system governments are often formed by coalition where many parties lead the government and they all work together to make laws. E.g., India, many political parties exist such as Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party etc.

Rashtriya Janta Dal is a regional party among the above list of political parties. Its base is in the Bihar. Party was formed in the year 1997 by Lallu Prasad Yadav. 

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is the third largest national political party in India. It was formed to represent, Bahujans, referring to people from the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Castes, as well as other religious minorities.

Single-party system is a system in which one political party has the right to form the government, usually based on the existing constitution. All other parties are either outlawed or allowed to take only a limited and controlled participation in elections. The politics of the People's Republic of China takes places in a framework of a semi-presidential socialist republic run by a single party, the Communist Party of China.

Shiv Sena exist as regional political party in Maharashtra state. It was founded by Bal Thackrey on 19 June 1966. The party was established with the objective of providing preferential treatment for Maharashtrians over the immigrants in the city.

The average election turnout in 2014 Lok Sabha elections over all nine phases was around 66.38%. Though this was the highest ever in the history of Indian general elections, approximately 33% of Indians still resisted from voting. This shows that political parties do not enjoy much trust among people.

Bharatiya Janata Party, established in 1980, is one of the largest political party in India. Its guiding philosophy is integral humanism. It was first presented by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in the form of four lectures delivered in Bombay on April 22-25, 1965.

Political parties compete for power and to gain the confidence of people to remain in power. They use several techniques to best represent the interest of the people and continue to maintain their large vote bank. Sometimes, unlawful means are also used by the parties to capture the power and to continue holding it.
