Three-fourth of the earth’s surface is covered with water, It occurs in the form of oceans and other water bodies.

This freshwater is mainly obtained from surface run off and ground water. All the remaining water occurs in the oceans and other water bodies. This is salt water and therefore unfit for domestic use

This freshwater is mainly obtained from surface run off and ground water that is continually being renewed and recharged through the hydrological cycle. This water cycle as it is otherwise called, includes evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
