An amylase is an enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of starch into sugars. Amylase is present in the saliva of humans and some other mammals, where it begins the chemical process of digestion. it is a major digestive enzyme, and its optimum pH is 6.8

Rennin is a proteolytic enzyme found in gastric juice of infants which helps in the digestion of milk proteins.

Ghrelin the hunger hormone is a peptide hormone produced by ghrelinergic cells in the gastrointestinal tract which function as neurpeptide in the central nervous system. It stimulates appetite and feeding.

Numerous folds present on inner surface of stomach are called rugae. They are series of ridges produced by folding of the wall of an organ. Another part of digestive tract which contain rugae is palate, the top part of inside mouth.

Zymogen is an inactive enzyme precursor that require biochemical change to become active. Amylase enzyme is not released from its source in the form of proenzyme or zymogen.

The Ilium is the uppermost and largest bone of the pelvis in vertebrates. Duodenum jejunum and colon are parts of human alimentary canal but ileum is not a part of this system.

Digestion of (lipid) fat begins in small intestine by secretion of bile juice that contains bile salts. Bile salt emulsify the lipids into globules that is further simplified into micelles and chylomicrons.
