Under sampling technique a lot of expenses are saved both in terms of money and energy not only in the collection of data but also in the ministration, transport and training etc. This is because in sample technique only an action of the population is studied and examined to arrive at the desired conclusion, thus, economy is maintained in all the phases of the enquiry conducted under this technique.

According to the Census Act 1948, population of India is counted using Census alongwith various charecterstics of the population.

Because census method provides a detailed, reliable, and true measure of population without any sampling error.

Pilot surveys, typically taken by smaller groups, help determine the efficiency of the future survey while also helping organizations smooth out difficulties before administering the main survey.

Questionnaire is generally sent through mail to informants to be answered as specified in a covering letter, but otherwise without further assistance from the sender. Whereas, a schedule is generally filled by the research worker or enumerator, who can interpret the questions when necessary.

Under this method, the investigator collects the data indirectly by interviewing the third persons who are supposed to be in close touch with the original informants or the incidence. This method of collecting the data is adopted when the original informants are either not found or found to be reluctant to part with the desired information, or the incidence concerned is not accessible.

Because the manager is collecting data personally from the informants

Because of unavailabilty of the main informant the information is collected from a third party which is likely to have the required information.

1. If a researcher wanted to create a systematic sample of 1,000 students at a university with an enrolled population of 10,000, he or she would choose every tenth person from a list of all students.
2. Data is selected based on characteristics of a population and the objective of the study.
3. The researcher first selects groups or clusters and then from each cluster, selects the individual subjects either by simple random sampling or systematic random sampling.
4. One might divide a sample of adults into subgroups by age, like 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and above. To stratify this sample, the researcher would then randomly select proportional amounts of people from each age group.
