Infrastructure is the basic physical systems of a business or nation; transportation, communication, sewage, water and electric systems are all examples of infrastructure. They are vital to a country's economic development and prosperity.

Social Infrastructure associated with education, health and housing. Social Infrastructure contributes to economic development of a country both by increasing the productivity of the factors of production and improving the quality of life of its people.

Traditionally, the government has been solely responsible for developing the country’s infrastructure. But it was found that the government’s investment in infrastructure was inadequate.

India, as you know, is hugely dependent on commercial energy like  thermal and hydro power plants to meet its power needs.

PMSSY was first launched in March 2006 with the primary objective of correcting the imbalances in availability of affordable/reliable tertiary level healthcare in India.
