Ganesh Chaturthi is the most important festival of Maharashtra, celebrated with much enthusiasm and gusto by the Marathis. It falls in the month of August-September and is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, the Elephant-God.

Marine Drive is situated over reclaimed land facing west-south-west. The bay is part of the Arabian Sea. Marine Drive is also known as the Queen's Necklace because if viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls,forming a necklace.

Vada pav is noted as the most popular street food in Mumbai. Other noted street foods in Mumbai include panipuri, bhelpuri, sevpuri, dahipuri, sandwiches, ragda-pattice, pav bhaji, Chinese bhel, idlis and dosas, all of which are vegetarian.

Mumbai, formerly Bombay, city, capital of Maharashtra state, southwestern India. It is the country's financial and commercial centre and its principal port on the Arabian Sea.

The Gateway of India is located on the waterfront at Apollo Bunder area at the end of Chhatrapati Shivaji Marg in South Mumbai and overlooks the Arabian Sea. The monument has also been referred to as the Taj Mahal of Mumbai, and is the city's top tourist attraction.

It was built as a triumphal arch to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Mumbai (then, Bombay). Gateway of India was built at Apollo Bunder, a popular meeting place. It was designed by the British architect, George Wittet.

The airport is named after the 17th-century Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, having been renamed in 1999 from the previous "Sahar Airport" to "Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport" (the title "Maharaj" was inserted on 30 August 2018).

The temple is famous one and the city has got the name from Goddess Mumba devi.

Mumbai Suburban Railway, which is also known as 'Mumbai's lifeline' is maintained and controlled by the Western Railway division along with the Central Railways zone of the Indian Railways. Most of the people travelling in Mumbai prefers to travel in these suburban railway trains also known as the Mumbai local trains.
