The pheran, also spelt phiran, is a long robe worn in Kashmir mostly in the winter as protection against the cold. The garment has long been part of Kashmir's traditional wear and is associated with the Kashmiri identity as much as the Kangri and the Kashmiri cuisine.

The salwar kameez is famous among Indian women as it is a very comfortable outfit which can also be used in different weather conditions. It is also a very graceful outfit which can be used at formal events, work place, dinner or even parties. The shalwar and kameez were introduced into South Asia after the arrival of Muslims in the north in the 13th century: at first worn by Muslim women, their use gradually spread, making them a regional style, especially in the historical Punjab region.

The staple food of North India is wheat which is consumed in the types of rotis or chapatis with sabzi or curry. The greater part of the North Indian individuals incline toward vegetarian diet aside from the Kashmiris.

Many Indian desserts are fried foods made with sugar, milk or condensed milk. Ingredients and preferred types of dessert vary by region.

Rice and Fish are the staple food of West Bengal.

Cabbage is a leafy green, red (purple), or white (pale green) biennial plant grown as an annual vegetable crop for its dense-leaved heads.
