The Greater Himalayas, also called Higher Himalayas or Great Himalaya Range, is the highest and northernmost section of the Himalayan mountain ranges.

The Himalayas consist of three parallel ranges, the Greater Himalayas known as the Himadri, the Lesser Himalayas called the Himachal, and the Shivalik hills, which comprise the foothills.

Mount Everest is a peak in the Himalaya mountain range. It is located between Nepal and Tibet, an autonomous region of China.

Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain above sea level, located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas.

The mountain peaks in the Himalayas are always covered with snow as they are at a great height and the temperature is very less at that height.

The Himalayan southern slopes is where we can find dense vegetation. This because the southern slope receive very heavy rainfall resulting in the growth of dense and thick forests within this region.

Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first people to stand atop the world's highest mountain: Mt. Everest.

Siwalik Range, also called Siwalik Hills or Outer Himalayas, Siwalik also spelled Shiwalik, sub-Himalayan range of the northern Indian subcontinent.

• Mahabaleshwar is a hill station in India's forested Western Ghats range, in Maharashtra.
• Shimla, Nainital, and Darjeeling are the famous hill stations in the Middle Himalayas.
• Lonavala and Khandala are hill stations in Maharashtra.
• Kodaikanal and Ooty, are both famous hill stations in Tamil Nadu.
