    (84)_____
    Solution
Option A is the correct answer because “and” is used to connect words of the same part of speech, clauses, or sentences, that are to be taken jointly, here ‘running’ and ‘jumping’, makes it the correct combination.
Option B is incorrect because “in” is used to express a situation of being enclosed within or surrounded by, hence it is not correct because both running and jumping are different activities that cannot be one within the other.
Option C is incorrect because “to” is used to express motion towards, in the direction of a particular location, which is incorrect because jumping is also a verb, just as running, so ‘to’ cannot be used here.
Option D is incorrect because “or” is used to link two alternatives, here running or jumping would mean that how they’re having a nice time is uncertain, which is incorrect because no other hint of uncertainty is used.

It is inconceivable that in many schools children are subjected to physical ___________ in the name of discipline.
    Solution
If it would have been 'security' then it would have been 'provided' in the statement not 'subjected'. Exercise does not fit. Violation (to breech) is also out of place. Use of 'physical' in statement indicates 'violence'. It fits best in the blank.

  • Question 4
    1 / -0
Choose the word or phrase that best completes the sentence.
The teachers were talking about a trip to see castles and the students were wondering _________.
    Solution
Following the syntax of assertive sentences, option C is the correct one, having the interrogative adverb of time/ question word followed by the pronoun and then the verb. Taking into context the topic of discussion, it would be safe to assume that the students would be wondering about the time frame of said activity and not the reason, which therefore, makes option A incorrect. Options B and D end in questions. The statement have started as an assertive sentence, Options B and D would be incompatible in this context. Thus, option C is the most appropriate answer.
  • Question 5
    1 / -0
Choose the word or phrase that best completes the sentence.
If you borrow something from someone, make sure you give _______.
    Solution
Option C is the correct answer since it contains the set of words in such syntax that it makes sense of the sentence. The statements of options A,B and D fail in this regard as they do not make complete sense due to the order of the works arranged therein. Therefore, Options A,B and D are all incorrect.
  • Question 6
    1 / -0
Convert the given Declarative sentence into an Interrogative sentence:
    I am looking too tired.
    Solution
When asking for confirmation, the question is asked in a sense opposite to that of the answer. Here the answer is in positive, therefore the question must be in negative. Therefore, Option A is correct. The rest of the options are in the same sense as in the answer, hence these are incorrect.
  • Question 7
    1 / -0
Write negative questions from the words in brackets.
A: Don't go and see that film.
    B:Why not? (it /is / not / good) ___________
    Solution
Options B and D are not applicable because they do not use all the words  present in the question. To frame a question, the verb has to come first. Therefore, Option C is correct and Option A is wrong.
  • Question 8
