  • Question 1
    1 / -0
In order to measure very short intervals, we mostly use :
    Solution
Stop clocks and stop watches are generally used to measure time for short intervals while wall clocks are used to measure time for long intervals.
  • Question 2
    1 / -0
What determine the nature of the path followed by the particle
    Solution
Without initial velocity and acceleration path of the particle cannot be decided. So at a time velocity and acceleration are required to determine the path followed by the particle.
  • Question 3
    1 / -0
A scooterist travels at 30 km/h along straight path for 20 min. What is distance?
    Solution
If the scooter is travelling at precisely $$30 km/h$$ in a perfectly straight line.
    We know $$1$$ hour=$$60$$ minutes
Therefore to calculate the distance traveled in the started fraction of the hour.
    $$\therefore 20$$ minutes is $$ = \frac{{20}}{{60}} = \frac{1}{3}$$ of an hour or $$3.3333$$%
    $$30\,km \times \frac{1}{3} = 10\,km$$
Therefore $$10km$$ is the distance traveled in $$20$$ minutes of travelling at a speed of $$30 km/h$$
  • Question 4
    1 / -0
Speedometer measures the speed of the car in
    Solution
As we know the speedometer used to measure the speed of vehicle and all the vehicle indicate speed in km/h
Hence speedometer also measure speed in km/h
  • Question 5
    1 / -0
A car covers a distance of $$2 \ km$$ in $$2.5$$ minutes. If it covers half of the distance with speed $$40 \ km/hr$$, the rest distance it shall cover with a speed of:
    Solution

    Given that,

    Time $$t=2.5\min $$

    Distance $$d=2km$$

    Now, firstly for half distance

      $$ v=\dfrac{d}{t} $$

     $$ t=\dfrac{d}{v} $$

     $$ t=\dfrac{60\times 60}{40} $$

     $$ t=90\,s $$

    Now, total time is

      $$ t=150-90 $$

     $$ t=60\,s $$

    Now, the speed is

      $$ v=\dfrac{d}{t} $$

     $$ v=\dfrac{1\times 60}{1} $$

     $$ v=60\,km/h $$

Hence, the speed is $$60 km/h$$

  • Question 6
    1 / -0
Which of the following physical quantities has same unit in all the three system of units?
    Solution
      $$LENGTH$$ $$MASS$$ $$TIME$$
     $$M.K.S$$ Meter killogram sec
     $$C.G.S$$ Centi meter  gram sec
     $$S.I.$$ meter killogram sec

The unit of time (i.e. second) is the same in all the three systems of units.
  • Question 7
    1 / -0
Rajdhini express moves at a speed of $$150\ km/h$$. How long will it take to cover a distance of $$15\ km$$?
    Solution
    Given,
    Speed $$v=150\ km/h$$
distance cover = displacement  $$d=15\ km$$          (Assume express is not changing its direction)

    $$Velocity\ (V)=\dfrac{Displacement\ (d)}{time\ (t)}$$

                       $$t=\dfrac dV=\dfrac{15}{150}=0.1\ hr$$

    Time taken $$t=0.1\ hr$$      Option A
  • Question 8
    1 / -0
Which of the following does not express a time interval?
    Solution
The correct answer is option (d) Time of the first bell in the school.
  • Question 9
    1 / -0
If we denote speed by $$S$$, distance by $$D$$ and time by $$T$$ the relationship these equation is?
    Solution
    $$speed = \dfrac{distance}{Time}$$
  • Question 10
    1 / -0
Which one of the following can not be used for measurement of time ?
    Solution
"A leaking tap" is the answer because we cannot estimate when will the drop fall.
    where as
⇒ simple pendulum shows time by its to and fro motion.
⇒ in olden days  the time is estimated by the shadow of an object
⇒ blinking of eyes is rarely seen which blinks by time unless by reflex actions
