• Surfing at the Summer Olympics will make its debut appearance in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

• Ranji Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket championship played in India between teams representing regional cricket associations.
• Vidarbha cricket team won the 2017 Ranji Trophy tournament beating the Delhi team. It was Vidarbha’s first Ranji Trophy title.

• The Blue Koala named ‘Borobi’ is the official mascot of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. ‘Borobi’ is an aboriginal term for Koala.
• With the majority of his body in blue, there are several markings on his paws and legs which convey different meanings. His ears are accompanied by yellow strokes horizontally.

The top-seeded Indian team has won the gold medal in the boys team event at the 18th Asian Junior Team Squash Championship-2017 by defeating Malaysia by 2-0 in the final in Hong Kong. It’s 2nd time that Indian boys team has won the championship. Earlier in 2011, they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in Colombo.

• People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world, with more than 6.5 million members and supporters.
