Coordinate Geometry Test - 4

In 1st quadrant sign of both coordinates is positive i.e, (+,+)

So ,(3,4) will lie in quadrant 1

In 2nd quadrant, Abscissa is (—ve)and Ordinate is (+ve) , i.e, (-x , y)

And here value of x is negative and y is positive, so it will lies in 2nd quadrant

In 3rd quadrant values of Abscissa and Ordinate both are —ve , i.e, (— , +)

Here,since value of both x and y-coordinate are -ve so it will lies in 3rd quadrant

In 4th quadrant values of Abscissa is (+) and Ordinate is (—) 

In the above question value of x-coordinate is +ve and y-coordinate is —ve ,so it will lies on 4th quadrant.

In Cartesian plane, any point p is written as p(x,y)

If the value of y-coordinate (ordinate) is zero then the point will lie on x-axis.

So here point p(3,0)will lie on x-axis.

In co-ordinate , any point p is written as p(x,y),

If value of x-coordinate is zero then the point p will lie on y-axis,

So, given point R(0,-3) will lie on y-axis

In co-ordinate,there are two axis x and y-axis,

Point of intersection of x-axis and y-axis is called origin

Since, x >0 and  y>0 

So,both x and y co-ordinate are +ve ,

And we know that in 1st quadrant value of both Abscissa and Ordinate is +ve so ,the point will lie in 1st quadrant.

Since, x>0   i.e,x is +ve

y<0  i.e, y is -be,

So ,in 4th quadrant value of (x,y) is (+ , — ) so the given point will lie in 4th quadrant.

Here,x < 0 (i.e —ve) and y > 0, (i.e, +ve)

So in 2nd quadrant value of (x , y) is

(—,+) so the given point will lie in 2nd quadrant.
