  • Question 1
    1 / -0

    Opposite angles of a Quadrilateral ABCD are equal. If AB = 4cm, find the length of CD.

    Solution

    A quadrilateral with both pair of opposite angles equal is a parallelogram.

    In parallelogram, opposite sides are equal.

    So, AB = CD = 4 cm

  • Question 2
    1 / -0

    In △ABC, EF is the line segment joining the mid-points of the sides AB and AC. BC = 7.2cm, Find EF.

    Solution

    E and F are mid points of sides AB and AC. By mid point theorem, EF is parallel to BC and EF is 1/2 of BC.

    So, EF = 1/2 of (7.2) = 3.6 cm

  • Question 3
    1 / -0

    E Divides AB in the ratio 1 : 3 and also, F divides AC in the ratio 1 : 3. EF = 2.8cm, Find BC

    Solution

    Let AE = x and EB = 3x , AF = y and FC = 3y.

    EF = 2.8 cm

    AE + AF = 2.8 implies x + y = 2.8

    BC = CF + FA + AE + EB

          = 3y + y + x + 3x

          = 4 ( x + y ) = 4 ( 2.8 ) = 11.2 cm

  • Question 4
    1 / -0

    Length of the line segment joining the mid-points of two sides of a Triangle is ......... the third side of the Triangle. Complete the Statement

    Solution

    According to mid point theorem , A line segment joining mid points of any two sides of a  triangle is parallel to third side and length of that line segment is half of the third side.

  • Question 5
    1 / -0

    ABCD is a Trapezium in which AB∥DC and ∠A = ∠B = 45. Find angles C and D of the Trapezium

    Solution

    AB is parallel to DC.

    angle A + angle D = 180 ( co-interior angle)

    angle D = 180 - 45 = 135

    Similarly by following same argument, angle B = 135

  • Question 6
    1 / -0

    One Angle of a quadrilateral is of 108 ∘ and the remaining three angles are equal. Find each of the three equal angles.

    Solution

    Let ABCD be a quadrilateral with angle A = 108 and angle B = angle C = angle D = x

    Angle A + angle B + angle C + angle D = 360 ( angle sum property)

    108 + x + x + x = 360

    3x = 360 - 108

    3x = 252

    x = 84

  • Question 7
    1 / -0

    Angles of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 3 : 4 : 4 : 7. Find all the angles of the quadrilateral.

    Solution

    Let ABCD be a quadrilateral with angle A = 3x, angle B = 4x , angle C = 4x and angle D = 7x

    angle A + angle B + angle C + angle D = 360 ( angle sum property)

    3x + 4x + 4x + 7x = 360

    18x = 360

    x = 20

    angle A = 3 ( 20) = 60

    angle B = angle C = 4 ( 20) =80

    angle D = 7 ( 20 ) = 140

  • Question 8
    1 / -0

    The angles of the quadrilateral are in the ratios 3 : 5 : 9 : 13. Find all the angles of the Quadrilateral

    Solution

    Let ABCD be a quadrilateral with angle A = 3x, angle B = 5x , angle C = 9x and angle D = 13x

    Angle A + angle B + angle C + angle D = 360 ( angle sum property)

    3x + 5x + 9x + 13x = 360

    30x = 360

    x = 12

    angle A = 3 ( 12) = 36

    angle B = 5 ( 12) =60

    angle C = 9 ( 12 ) = 108

    angle D = 13 ( 12 ) = 156
