Democracy better than other forms of governments because:-

In party less democracy, elections are not contested on party lines but on individual basis. The possibility of controlling leaders by requiring them to submit to regular and periodic elections helps to solve the problem of succession in leadership and thus contributes to the continuation of democracy. Moreover, where the electoral process is competitive and forces candidates or parties to expose their records and future intentions to popular scrutiny, elections serve as forums for the discussion of public issues and facilitate the expression of public opinion. Elections thus provide political education for citizens and ensure the responsiveness of democratic governments to the will of the people.

Democracy is the most popular system of government in the modern world. It has various merits. It provides efficient government, guarantees the rights of the people, provides equality, educates the people, promotes national character, brings peaceful change of government, believes not in battle axe, but in ballot box. In democracy, there is no place for rebellion and revolutions.

• The Opposition’s main role is to question the government of the day and hold them accountable to the public.The Opposition is equally responsible for upholding the best interests of the people of the country. They have to ensure that the Government does not take any steps, which might have negative implications on the people of the country.
• The role of the opposition in parliament is basically to check the excesses of the ruling or dominant party, and not to be totally antagonistic. There are actions of the ruling party which may be beneficial to the masses and oppositions are expected to support such things.
