India has signed a USD 777 million (Rs 5,683) deal with a leading Israeli defence firm for supplying Barak 8 LR-SAM Air and Missile Defence Systems to seven ships of the Indian Navy in October 2018. The contract was signed with the Israel Space Association with IAI's local partner, Indian state-owned aerospace and defence company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). BEL was awarded a $1.28 billion contract from Indian shipyards Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilder Limited (MDL) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) to deliver the seven Barak 8 LR-SAM air and missile systems to the Indian Navy in September 2017.

The Barak 8 LR-SAM air and missile defence system will be installed aboard Visakhapatnam-class guided missile destroyers, Kolkata-class destroyers, Kamorta-class anti-submarine warfare corvettes, and Project 17A class of stealth frigates, as well as on the INS Vikrant, the service's first indigenously built aircraft carrier. The 2018 deal was preceded by the conclusion of a $630 million deal, signed in May 2017 between IAI and BEL, for the supply of four Barak 8 LR-SAM systems to the Indian Navy. In April 2017, IAI and BEL also signed a $2 billion deal for, the medium-range surface-to-air (MRSAM) missile defence systems, the land-based variant of the Barak 8, to the Indian Army.

Directions: Read the paragraph carefully and identify the factual mistakes.

Virat Kohli became only the fifth Indian batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs and in the process, broke Sachin Tendulkar's record to become the fastest batsman to reach the milestone. Before the start of the second ODI against West Indies in Vizag, Kohli needed 81 to reach the coveted landmark. After his stroke-filled 140 in the first ODI on Sunday, there was little doubt Kohli would get to 10,000 runs in just the next match. He got off the mark with a boundary off Kemar Roach, who had just dismissed Rohit Sharma cheaply. Thereafter, Kohli went about building his innings like he has done so often over the last decade and went on to score 157 runs and broke the record.

Tendulkar completed 10,000 ODI runs in 2001. He took 259 innings to reach the milestone at the age of 27 on March 31, 2001, in an ODI vs Australia in Indore, just 24 days shy of his 28th birthday. Kohli has reached the mark in just 205 innings. The historic run against West Indies was part of his 37th ton in ODIs as he made an unbeaten 157 from 129 balls in India's total of 321-6 from 50 overs. The match ended in a tie as Shai Hope, who finished unbeaten on 123, scored a four off the final ball. Kohli, however, still has some way to go to break Tendulkar's all-time ODI run record, with the former India skipper having made 18,426 runs before his retirement from the format in 2012. Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara is second on 14,234 with Australia's Ricky Ponting on 13,704.
    Solution
Virat Kohli became only the fifth Indian batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs and in the process, broke Sachin Tendulkar's record to become the fastest batsman to reach the milestone.

Virat Kohli became only the fourth Indian batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs and in the process, broke Sachin Tendulkar's record to become the fastest batsman to reach the milestone.

Hence, the correct option is (a).
