A alone can complete a work in 12 days and B alone can complete the same work in 15 days. If they finish the work together and received Rs. 3600. Then find the share of A.

    Solution

    Given,

A alone can complete a work in = 12 days

B alone can complete the same work in = 15 days

    As we know,

Wages are distributed into efficiency ratio.

Efficiency is inversely proportional to time.

    Time ratio of A and B = 12 : 15 = 4 : 5

    Efficiency ratio of A and B = 5 : 4

    According to the question,

    5 + 4 = 9 units

    ⇒ 9 units = 3600

    ⇒ 1 unit = 400

    ⇒ 5 units = 5 × 400 = Rs. 2000

    ∴ Share of A is Rs. 2000.✅
