In this question, the rule that dictates what shapes appear in the top boxes relates to the number of crosses in the box below. How ever many crosses are in the box below must equate to the number of triangles in the box above.

The correct answer is Neither since it does not have Set B’s common feature of an arrow pointing to a square, nor does it have Set A’s common feature of an arrow pointing to a circle. In fact, whilst there is an arrow this points away from any of the shapes

In this question the number of edges on the outer shape increases by one as you move from left to right.

If you also add up all the edges on the inner shapes, they will equal the total number of the outer shape.

The missing shape therefore contains 4 edges on the outer shape and 4 edges on the inner shape. For this reason, the answer is D.

There are four sets of circles, one in each corner, which rotate one corner at a time as follows: the two white circles and the two black circles rotate anticlockwise; and the single white and the single black circle rotate clockwise.

This type of question can look very complex but in this case it is just one rule that you have to work out. Each block in the series contains three rows of three circles. At each step in the series there are two rules.
