The rule in this question is that the shape moves one place counterclockwise as it goes around the box.

The shape also rotates 90 degrees clockwise every time it moves.

Box E works in accordance with both of these rules and is therefore the correct answer.

The correct answer is Set B because there is a column of three figures. This is the common feature for all six of the Set B blocks. The position, size and colour of each of the figures doesn’t affect the answer.

In the question the key rule is that the number of 'star' shapes in the central column must always equal the number of double circle shapes.

If there are no star shapes there should be no circle shapes. If there are three star shapes, there should be three circle shapes. Option F is the only one that abides by this rule.

There are three rules occurring in this question. The square at the top left is in a pattern of ‘twos’ in that for the first two boxes in the sequence it is shaded black, it then changes to stripes for two boxes and then reverts back to black for the final two. The box at the bottom left alternates between being there and not being there as the sequence runs from left to right. The final rule relates to the two right hand boxes. The bottom one always stays in the same position but the top one is moving down and then back up again. It moves from top to middle, to bottom, to middle to top.

In this sequence white circle moves up one position at each step and the arrow moves clockwise 45 degrees. There is no sequence to the larger shape.

Each block in the series contains a set of three diagonal lines which move one step at a time along an invisible diagonal line from the top left-hand corner to the bottom right-hand corner. In the first block there is a set of 3 diagonal lines. In the second block one diagonal line disappears from each set; which leaves two sets of figures. The same pattern is repeated until there is only one set left. Then at each step in the series, an additional diagonal line is added to each set. And so on.

There are three rows of three squares; one row in each square is black. At each step, every row moves down one place. The row which leaves the bottom of the block reappears at the top.

Within the pattern every shape must appear 6 times and also, there must be at least one shaded version and one non shaded version of each shape. There is currently one shaded triangle in the shape which means that the answer must be E as that contains 5 non-shaded triangles.

There are two interlacing patterns: blocks 1, 3 & 5 form the first; blocks 2, 4 & 6 the second. At each step of each sub-series, the entire block rotates 90 degrees anticlockwise. So, block 1 rotates 90 degrees anticlockwise to become block 3; block 3 rotates anticlockwise to become block 5. In between, block 2 rotates 90 degrees anticlockwise to become block 4 (F); block 4 rotates 90 degrees anticlockwise to become block 6.

Each block in the series contains a central circle and four circles with one in each corner. The central circle changes over a series of four blocks, from white to black, to a horizontal diagonal, to a vertical diagonal. Then starts again. The circle in the bottom left hand corner changes in line with the central circle.
