There are two sets of figures: one figure moves from each row at each step of the series: (i) The first figure in the top row moves to the end of the second row; and (ii) The first figure in the bottom row moves to the end of the first row of figures.

The correct answer is Set A because one of the shapes is half of a square’s shape (the first triangle). This is the common feature for all six of the Set A figures. The position, size and colour of each of the figures doesn’t affect the answer.

There are four sets of circles, one in each corner, which rotate one corner at a time as follows: the two white circles and the two black circles rotate anticlockwise; and the single white and the single black circle rotate clockwise.

The rule in this question is that the number of right facing arrows in the bottom box must equal the number of horizontal black lines in the box above.

There are two right facing arrows in the box below the question mark and Option C is the only option with two lines in thus making it the correct answer.

Set A since the central figure is a circle.

In this question, the shapes in the final images in each row (at the right hand side) are always the same as the shapes in that row which have an arrow pointing away from them.

So, in the top row there are two arrows pointing outwards and they are pointing away from a circle and a hexagon. In row two, the outward pointing arrow is pointing away from a love heart,

The correct answer is C because there are two outward pointing arrows in the third row and they are pointing away from a triangle and a square

The pattern you are looking for here is simply related to the arrows. They are presented in a sequence of 3-2-1-3-2- ….therefore the missing square must contain 1 arrow to finish off the sequence. A further factor is that the arrows move from left to middle to right of the box. This means that the missing arrow must be placed at the furthest right of the box. The blue shaded boxes at the right hand side have no relevance and no specific pattern. They are just superfluous information.

There are four arrows. At each step in the series: the first arrow rotates 45-degrees clockwise; the second arrow rotates 45-degrees clockwise; the third arrow and the fourth arrow are reflections of the first two arrows in the horizontal plane.

Each block in the series contains two to three rows of squares, to which one is added at each step in the series. The first block is added to the bottom left-hand corner and then a subsequent new square is added to each of the other three corners, in an anticlockwise direction.

This type of question can look very complex but in this case it is just one rule that you have to work out. In this instance the 'rule' created by the bottom box is that the number of circular shapes in the box must be identical to the number of arrows in the corresponding box above. The star shape is just 'noise' and is not part of the rule.

The box underneath the question mark contains one round shape and option A is the only option containing one arrow.
