Each block in the series contains two columns of three squares. The ‘black shading’ rotates around the “perimeter made by the two columns combined”, by one square at a time.

Each block in the series contains three rows of triangles. Firstly, at each step in the series, the central triangle alternates between a black shading and a white shading. Secondly, the ‘black shading’ of the sixth triangle (the third triangle on the second row) moves around the perimeter by one triangle for each step in the series. Thus between box 1 and 2 the ninth triangle (the third triangle on the third row) becomes black, and at the same step the ‘black shading’ of the sixth triangle disappears, leaving its original white shading.

Each block in the series contains four figures. The flower figure moves around clockwise, one figure at a time, and swaps its position with each of these figures as it does so.

Each block in the series contains two arrows. At each step in the series: the first arrow rotates anticlockwise by 45-degrees at each step in the series; and the second arrow, which is always horizontal, alternates between pointing right and pointing left.

Each block in the series contains two to three rows of squares, to which one is added at each step in the series. The first block is added to the bottom left-hand corner and then a subsequent new square is added to each of the other three corners, in an anticlockwise direction.

There is a central circle surrounded by eight circles. The central circle changes colour from grey to having a dotted outline to black. At each step in the series one circle is removed in the order of white, black, grey circles. The order of the remaining circles is randomised.

There are two sets of figures: one figure moves from each row at each step of the series: (i) The first figure in the top row moves to the end of the second row; and (ii) The first figure in the bottom row moves to the end of the first row of figures.

There are four arrows. At each step in the series: the first arrow rotates 45-degrees clockwise; the second arrow rotates 45-degrees clockwise; the third arrow and the fourth arrow are reflections of the first two arrows in the horizontal plane.

There are two figures: a triangle and a circle. At each step in the series both the circle and the triangle move a step down a vertical line. As each shape reaches the bottom of a block it returns’ to the top of the next block.

There are two figures at each point in the series: (i) The black square moves anticlockwise around the block, one corner at a time. (ii) The white square moves clockwise around the block, one corner at a time.
