Each block in the series contains a triangle, a square, a black circle and a white circle. At each step in the series all four figures shift by one place. There are two alternate series of blocks. The figures in the first, third and fifth block rotate anticlockwise. The figures in the second, fourth and sixth blocks rotate clockwise.

There are three rows of three squares; one row in each square is black. At each step, every row moves down one place. The row which leaves the bottom of the block reappears at the top.

Each block in the series contains three rows of three circles, two of which never move - one in the centre and one in the bottom left of the box. At each step in the series the black circle that starts in the top left spot moves along the top horizontal row, and then along the middle row – moving a single circle along each row at each step in the series. It also overlaps the existing circles.

Each block in the series contains an arrow in each corner. At each step in the series two adjacent arrows reverse their direction. This process starts with the top left-hand corner and bottom left-hand corner arrows. Then the next two adjacent arrows - moving one figure anticlockwise – are the bottom left-hand corner and right-hand corner arrows.

At each step in the series a “new point of the compass” is added. The first block contains a single line “pointing north”. The next step in the series adds South, then South-West and so on in a clockwise direction.

There is a central figure and four figures with one in each corner: (i) The central figure changes from a ‘rectangle with rounded corners’ to a rectangle, trapezoid, 12-sided shape and then repeats this order of shapes. (ii) The four figures rotate clockwise in the first three figures then anticlockwise in the next three around the four corners, one corner at a time.

There are three rows of three arrows. At each step in the series, the first arrow from the first row is added to the end of the second row. The first arrow from the second row is added to the end of the third row; and the first arrow from the third row is added to the end of the first row.

There are eight figures, plus a central figure. The central figure changes in a series of three: from a horizontal arrowhead; to a vertical arrowhead; and to a curved arrowhead. The eight figures that surround this central figure rotate around it in a clockwise direction by 90-degrees i.e. ‘one side at a time’.

There are four triangles with one in each corner. At each step of the series: the top right-hand corner triangle rotates by 180-degrees; the top left-hand corner triangle rotates by 90-degrees in an anticlockwise direction; the bottom right-hand corner triangle rotates by 180-degrees; and the bottom left-hand corner triangle rotates by 90-degrees in an anticlockwise direction.
