In this question the square at the top changes from top left to top right.

The middle box moves right one place and the bottom box moves left one place as you move along the sequence.

According to these rules, the answer must be A.

There is only one rule in this question; the shapes in the left column must all be the same and the shapes in the right column must all be the same. Also, there must be the same number of shapes in the left and the right columns.

Within the pattern every shape must appear 5 times. There are 5 black stars,  white clouds, 5 black clouds, 5 suns and 5 moons. There are 5 lightning bolts in the pattern so the correct answer is D – we do not need any further lightning bolts. If there was an option with 66 new shapes in this could be a feasible answer but within the options given, D is correct.

In this question, the number of grey squares in the bottom box must be equal to the number of lines with both ends facing upwards in the top box.

There are no squares in the box below the question mark therefore, A must be the correct answer as there are no upturned lines.

Imagine that the blue shapes form part of a large blue circle. As the sequence progresses two more ‘slices’ of the circle are taken away, revealing more white underneath. The cross in the middle of the diagram alternates between being shaded and being white at each step in the sequence. Finally, there is a dot that moves around the box in a clockwise direction.

If we only knew the first rule about the slices of the circle being taken away, we could narrow down the correct options to A, B and F. Only A and B have a white cross in the middle and finally, option B has the outer dot in the correct place.

In this question, the circle rotates clockwise 45 degrees as you move down the sequence.

A further rule is the large line moving counterclockwise to the following corner.

Box A works in accordance with both of these rules and is therefore the correct answer.

In this question, the number of lines in the bottom right hand corner of each box is always equal to the number of arrows in the same box.

A further rule is that when all arrows point downwards the black shape is evident in the top right hand corner.

Box E works in accordance with both of these rules and is therefore the correct answer. There are three arrows and three lines. The black shape is not in the box as not all of the arrows point downwards.

In this question the number of edges on the outer shape increases by one as you move from left to right.

If you also add up all the edges on the inner shapes, they will equal the total number of the outer shape.

The missing shape therefore contains 4 edges on the outer shape and 4 edges on the inner shape. For this reason, the answer is D.

In this question, there are two patterns that are occurring in every other box. In the first box, you can see there is a circle in the top left corner. In the third box, this circle moves one place anti-clockwise and ends up in the bottom left hand corner and then in the fifth box it moves one place further and ends up in the top right hand corner.

The second pattern relates to the two circle with the arrow in-between. They move in the same direction as the singular circle (anti-clockwise) and they move on every other step. This means that option C must be the correct response.

In this sequence white circle moves up one position at each step and the arrow moves clockwise 45 degrees. There is no sequence to the larger shape.
