Solution

For all four items:

Cost in shop A
= 449.30 x 3 + 330.60
= Rs. 1678.5

Cost in shop B
= 400.9 x 3 + 340.90
= Rs. 1543.6

Cost in shop C
= 449.20 x 3 + 250.15
= Rs. 1597.75

Shop B will cost them the least amount of money.

(b) In this case, they spend = 449.30 + 400.90 + 250.15 = Rs. 1100.35
So, money they will be left with = (1200 - 1100.35) = Rs. 99.65
