Thermocouple is used to change heat energy into electrical energy.
When two junctions of thermocouple are kept at different temperature, current start flowing through the thermocouple.

Potential energy of simple pendulum is zero at centre and its kinetic energy is equal to mgh.
At peak points, K. E = 0 and P. E = mgh

The product of force and displacement in the direction of force is known as the work done.
So, work = force x distance.
Therefore, we say that work is said to be done when force acting on it moves it.

Joule is a unit of work. One joule is defined as the amount of energy exerted when a force of one newton is applied over a displacement of one meter, which is known as work done.

Work done is said to be1 joule if a force of 1 Newton acting on a body displaces it by 1 meter in the direction of force. It has unit N-m.

Total energy possessed by a body is called its mechanical energy.
It is the sum of potential and kinetic energy of the body.

A man is walking on a plane surface with a suitcase. Here, force and displacement are perpendicular to each other. when force and displacement are perpendicular, so cos 90° = 0. Hence, the work done is zero.
