Low RBC count is the reason for being anaemic. Low iron levels in the blood are the reason for low RBC count. Red blood cells become low in a protein called haemoglobin, which carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. This can be because of a poor diet, menstruation, frequent blood donation, endurance training, certain digestive conditions, such as Crohn`s disease, surgical removal of part of the gut and some foods.

Goiter is a swelling in the neck due to an enlarged thyroid gland.
Goiter can arise when the thyroid gland doesn`t produce enough thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism) or when it produces an excessive amount of thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism).
