The Nilgiri Hills are located in the state of Tamil Nadu.The Nilgiri Mountains form part of the Western Ghats in western Tamil Nadu of Southern India. At least 24 of the Nilgiri Mountains' peaks are above 2,000 metres (6,600 ft), the highest peak being Doddabetta, at 2,637 metres (8,652 ft).

The largest river delta of India is of Ganga. "The Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta (also known as the Brahmaputra Delta, the Sunderbans Delta or the Bengal Delta) is a river delta in the Bengal region of the South Asia, consisting of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the world's largest delta and empties into the Bay of Bengal.

Punjab is the Indian State which is also known as `Land of Five Rivers`. The word "Punjab" is a combination of the Persian words panj (five), and āb (water), giving the literal meaning of the "Land of Five Rivers". The five rivers after which Punjab is named are the Beas, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej. The people that live in the state of Punjab are known as Punjabi.

Narmada and Tapti are the rivers of southern India are west-flowing and flow into the Arabian Sea. The rivers Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri all flow eastward and drain in the Bay of Bengal. Narmada and Tapti rivers flow through the rift valleys which have a different gradient. So they flow westward. Rivers on the Indian peninsular plateau flow from West to East because of the gradient of the land.

Yamuna river joins Ganga at Allahabad. The point of confluence is a sacred place for Hindus. A bath here is said to wash away all of one's sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth. One such Triveni Sangam, in Prayag (Allahabad) has two physical rivers Ganges, Yamuna, and the invisible or mythic Saraswati River. The site is in Prayag, India.

The Himalayan mountain system belongs to Fold mountains. Fold mountains are created where two or more of Earth's tectonic plates are pushed together. At these colliding, compressing boundaries, rocks and debris are warped and folded into rocky outcrops, hills, mountains, and entire mountain ranges. Fold mountains are created through a process called orogeny. The rugged, soaring heights of the Himalayas, Andes, and Alps are all active fold mountains. The crust beneath the Himalaya, the most towering mountain range on Earth, is still the process of being compressed. Here, the Indian plate is colliding northward with the Eurasian plate.

Hussain Sagar lake is located Hyderabad. Hussain Sagar is a necklace shaped lake in Hyderabad built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, and named after Hussain Shah Wali. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. It also separates Hyderabad from its twin city Secunderabad. The maximum depth of the lake is 10 feet.

The Konkan Coast stretches between Goa and Daman. The plain stretches approximately 330 miles (530 km) from the Daman Ganga River north of Mumbai (Bombay) to the Terekhol River between Maharashtra and Goa states and Daman and Diu union territory in the south.

Mahanadi is an east flowing river of Indian Peninsula. Most of the major rivers of the peninsula such as the Mahanadi, the Godavari, the Krishna and the Kaveri flow eastwards and drain into the Bay of Bengal. These rivers make delta at their mouths. The Narmada, Periyar and Tapti are the only long rivers, which flow west and make estuaries.

Jog Falls is located in the state of Karnataka. Jog Falls, Gerosoppa Falls or Joga Falls, located in Falling Point in Siddapura, Uttara Kannada and View Point in Sagara in the Indian state of Karnataka, is 2nd highest plunge waterfalls in India. It is a segmented waterfall which, depending on rain and season, becomes a plunge waterfall. The falls are a major tourist attraction and is ranked 13th in the world by the waterfall database. They are also known as the Gersoppa Falls or Jogada Gundi.
