The floor of a swimming pool (size: 48 m x 24 m) is to be covered by using the tiles of size 8 cm x 12 cm. Depth of the pool at the shallow end is 1m and at the deep end is 21 m. How many pieces of tiles are required to cover the floor completely? (Assume that there is no wastage)

The slant height of a cone is increased by k%. If radius remains same, the curved surface area increases by

  • Question 3
    1 / -0

Water flows at a rate of 10 m per minute from a cylindrical pipe, 5 mm in diameter. How long will it take to fill up a conical vessel whose diameter of the base is 40 cm and depth is 24 cm?

    Solution

    Volume of the conical vessel = (1/3) × π × (20)2 × 24 = 3200π cm3
    Volume flown in 1 minute = (π × (2.5/10)2 × 1000) = 62.5π cm3
    Therefore, time taken = 3200π/62.5π = 51 min 12 sec
