The Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026-27 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for Class 6.

Sainik School Eligibility Criteria 2026-27: Detailed Guide for Class 6 Admission

Sl. No. Criteria Details
1 Nationality Only Indian citizens are eligible. Students residing outside India cannot apply.
2 Gender Both boys and girls can apply. Girls are admitted based on available vacancies.
3 Age Limit 10-12 years as of 31 March 2026. Born between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016.
4 Educational Qualification Must have passed Class 5 from a recognized school. Class 5 passing certificate required at application.

5. Admission Criteria for New Sainik Schools

Two routes are followed for admission to Class 6 in new Sainik Schools:

40% Route: The student must be 10-12 years of age by March 31, 2026. The date of birth must be between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2016.

60% Route: The student must be studying in the new Sainik School where admission is sought and must have passed Class 5 by March 31, 2026. The age limit remains the same.

6. Required Documents

To apply for AISSEE 2026-27 Class 6 admission, students must upload the following documents:

  • Date of Birth Certificate
  • State Residence Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Income Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Candidate's Photograph (10kb-200kb)
  • Candidate's Signature (4kb-30kb)
  • Left Thumb Impression (10kb-50kb)
  • Service Certificate and PPO for Ex-Servicemen (if applicable)

7. Admission Process for Girls

The admission process for girls is the same as for boys. Girls must meet the age limit for admission to Class 6. After this, they must pass a written examination, online counseling, and a medical examination.

8. Sainik School Admission Form 2026-27

Sainik School admission forms for AISSEE 2026-27 are available online at exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE.

Application fee: ₹800 for General, Other Backward Classes (NCL), children of defense personnel and ex-servicemen, and ₹650 for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Payment can be made through online modes such as debit card, credit card, and net banking.

No hard copy of the application will be accepted by the examination conducting authority.
