The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 will be conducted for admission to Class 9.

This exam is the main entrance exam for admission to Class 9 in Sainik Schools. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

AISSEE 2026: Class 9 Admission – Eligibility Criteria

Students must meet the following criteria for admission to Class 9:

  • Age Limit: Students must be at least 13 years old and at most 15 years old as of April 1, 2026.
  • Educational Qualification: Students must have passed Class 8 or are about to pass it in the same year.
  • Gender: Both boys and girls are eligible.
  • Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Special Requirements: Selected students will have to undergo a medical examination and must be physically fit.

AISSEE 2026 – Class 9 Application Process

The application process for Class 9 admission is as follows:

  • Register by visiting the official website exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE.
  • During registration, fill in the student's personal information, date of birth, school details, and category (General/SC/ST/OBC-NCL).
  • Upload the required documents such as photo, signature, birth certificate, and residence certificate.
  • Pay the application fee. The fee is approximately ₹800 for General category and Defense/Other categories. The fee may be lower for SC/ST students.
  • After completing the application process, download and save the confirmation page.

AISSEE 2026 – Class 9 Reservation Policy

Seat reservations for Class 9 admissions are as follows:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): Approximately 15% of seats
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): Approximately 7.5% of seats
  • OBC/NCL: Approximately 27% of seats
  • Home State/UT: Approximately 67% of seats
  • Other States/UT: Approximately 33% of seats
  • Special reservation for children of defense personnel
  • Approximately 10% of seats reserved for girls

AISSEE 2026 – Class 9 Preparation Tips

Study the syllabus: NCERT Class 8 books are useful for math, science, English/Hindi, and general knowledge.

Solve mock tests and previous year question papers: This helps you practice the exam pattern and time management.

Practice time management: Use your time wisely to solve all the questions in the exam.

Focus on language and writing skills: The English/Hindi language section will include questions related to grammar and writing.
