Candidates can check some important points related to the GATE 2021 Civil Engineering Paper below:
- Like the past years, the paper was not at all balanced. Few of the questions were lengthy
- Maximum MSQs were from Fluid Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, and Structure
- Paper was not easy it can be kept between easy to moderate level
- A good number of questions were asked from Geo Tech and Foundation
- One or two questions were asked from Transportation

Suresh Kumar - 'I noticed that there were more questions from Highway. Every year, there are usually more questions from Soil Mechanics of Geotechs, but this time there were only three or four questions. Integer type questions were a bit complex otherwise the paper was of moderate difficulty.'
Ram Mani Shukla - 'Paper was of moderate difficulty. There were more questions from structural design and analysis and questions from Foundation Engineering were also present.
Panchsheel Kumar says that the paper was of moderate to tough difficulty and there were more questions from Soil.
Sandeep says that the paper was moderate in difficulty and that there were more questions from structures.
Amit Kumar - 'The paper was of average difficulty. There were more questions from Soil.'
Prashant Kumar - ' The paper was moderate, students who had studied must have found the paper quite easy. There were many questions from Environmental Engineering. From structures, there were questions from trusses and deflection.'
