The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE Class 10, 12 Result 2021 Dispute Redressal Policy after receiving several requests by students and parents in this regard. The application process for the same has started from August 9, 2021, and will go on till August 14, 2021.

CBSE has said that the disputes regarding the computation of marks would be referred to a committee. The committee has mentioned about four disputes and highlighted the modalities to address the disputes. However, candidates should note that they cannot challenge the method of computation of marks that have been used by the resulting committee. Further, disputes regarding Class 12 exams will be addressed first and Class 10 disputes will be taken into consideration after that.

CBSE Class 10th, 12th Result 2021: Dispute Type 1 & 2
This category of disputes includes computation of marks by the result committee. With the cancellation of board exams, the internal assessment was used by CBSE to mark students. The board used marks of class 12, 11, 10 with 40:30:30 weightage for releasing class 12 result 2021. Candidates who are not satisfied with their marks can make the representation to the principal of the school for verification.

Schools should record the receipt of the representation for future purposes. The same result committee will look into the result of the candidate and in case it is found right, candidates will be sent a reply. Thus, the dispute would be solved. In case a mistake is found, the resulting committee will give a detailed reply to the school about how the mistake happened. The school will be expected to mark the representation to the concerned Regional Officer through School Request Submission Resolution, SRSS system whose link is available on the CBSE website. Now the dispute becomes Type 2. Necessary update of the result tabulation will be done by the Regional Office with strict confidentiality.
CBSE Class 10th, 12th Result 2021: Dispute Type 3 & 4:
The type 3 dispute relates to wrong computation or uploading of results which has been observed by the resulting committee before the student points it out. Schools will have to send the request through SARS with record to Regional Officer. The resulting committee would comprise of Deputy Commissioner KVS, Deputy Director, State Education Department, and others. After verifying the facts, it will be submitted to the Regional Officer. In case the representation is found to be correct, the Regional Officer will make the required changes. The type 4 dispute relates to despite regarding the policy.

Those who are not satisfied with the tabulation formula approved by CBSE after due consultation with the SC on June 17, 2021, can raise grievances. Schools will have to send the applications through SARS under type 4 dispute, with complete details of the claim. The committee to look after the dispute will comprise of a retired principal and officers, not below the posts of Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary. The recommendation will be submitted to the Comptroller of Examination. If found correct, CBSE will give a written reply to the school. In case of a claim is found incorrect, the Coordination Unit will take necessary actions.
