CBSE Board Exams 2024: Stay Informed About 75% Attendance Rule; Details Inside
CBSE Board Exams 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, is gearing up for the upcoming board exams in the 2023-24 academic year. In preparation for the class 10th and 12th exams, the board is reminding students and schools of the essential 75 percent attendance requirement. CBSE will calculate attendance starting from January 1. Students falling short of the attendance criteria are requested to submit the necessary documents by January 7, 2024. Below, you'll find information about CBSE board exam rules and other relevant details.
For the February-March 2024 board exams, CBSE conducts examinations for classes 10th and 12th. The detailed CBSE Board exam date sheet will be released once the necessary procedures are completed.
CBSE Board Exam 2024 Attendance Requirements
As part of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) established by CBSE, a minimum of 75 percent attendance is mandatory.
"Accordingly, the CBSE has issued circulars and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and has prescribed mandatory at least 75% attendance for appearing in the Board examination. A 25% relaxation is allowed in attendance to accommodate situations and emergencies faced by students and their families, as per rules 13 and 14 of the Examination Bye-Laws," as mentioned in a CBSE notification.
If your attendance falls below the prescribed threshold, schools are required to collect data from students, including parental requests, medical certificates, medical reports, and other relevant documentation. For further details, students can contact their school administration.
CBSE's notification states, "Attendance will be calculated as of January 1 of the Academic session; i. Shortage of attendance cases received in the concerned Regional Office up to January 7 of the academic session of Class X or XII will only be considered by the Board. j. No case will be accepted after January 7 of the academic session of Class X or XII. Cases without mandatory documents will be summarily rejected."
