Students will get 40 credit points for 1200 hours of study in a year. CBSE has sent guidelines to schools under the National Credit Framework. Although the credit framework has been prepared for all classes, it has been specially prepared for children from class 9th to 12th. SOP has been implemented regarding integrated credit for both general and vocational education.

CBSE Director (Skill Education) Dr. Vishwajeet Saha has sent guidelines to all the schools regarding this. One credit point is determined for 15 hours of theory, while one credit point is for 30 hours of theory-practical combined.

Credit points are determined according to hours of learning per subject. Many changes have also been made for children of classes 6th to 8th. Credit points will also be given in vocational courses. Especially by keeping sixth and seventh subjects in 10th-12th board, students will get different benefits from it.

  • Credit points will also be available in vocational courses

Children of 11th-12th will be Able to Take up to 47 Credit Points.

Students will be able to take 40 to 47 credit marks for seven subjects in class 11-12. In this, 180-180 hours have been prescribed for Language 1 and 2 for which there will be 6-6 credit marks. Subjects 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 have been prescribed 210 hours each. There will be 7-7 credit marks for these.

You Will Get Benefit in Enrolling For Higher Education or Other Courses.

Satish Kumar Jha, secretary of CBSE school organization Sahodaya, said that credit points are being implemented for the first time. This will further benefit the children in enrollment in higher education after Intermediate, where they will get weightage on this credit. There will be a total of 40 credits for classes 9 including all the subjects. It will be the same in 10th also.

In this, under language, there will be 120-120 hours for three different languages and credits will be 4-4, while for Math, Science and Social Science, 150-150 hours will be prescribed in which credit points will be five. Apart from this, under the interdisciplinary area, there will be 120 hours in Environment Education for 4 credit points, in Vocational Education, there will be 150 hours in skill subjects for which 5 credit points will be given. 60 hours have been prescribed in Physical Education, Well Being and Art Education, on which 2 credit marks will be given.
