The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated the online application process for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023 and for the renewal of scholarships awarded in the previous year. Eligible students can submit their scholarship applications by October 18 via the official website, cbse.gov.in.

Under this scholarship program, students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 500. To qualify for the scholarship, single girl students must have secured a minimum of 60 percent in their Class 10 exams and be currently studying in Class 11 or 12. Additionally, their monthly tuition fee should not exceed Rs 1,500. Here are the detailed eligibility criteria:

1. The scholarship is exclusively available to Indian nationals.
2. The student must be enrolled in Class 11 or 12 at a school.
3. Applicants who passed the CBSE Class 10 exam in 2023 are eligible.
4. While receiving this scholarship, students can also benefit from other concessions provided by their school or other organizations.

Selection Criteria:

1. Students should have passed the CBSE Class 10 exam with a minimum of 60% marks.
2. For Renewal: Students should have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship in the previous year, should have been a Class 11 student in the previous academic year, and achieved a score of 50% or higher in Class 11 while being promoted to Class 12.
3. Enrolled in Class 11 and 12 at CBSE-affiliated schools.
4. The girl student must be the sole child of her parents.
5. The tuition fee should not exceed Rs 1,500 per month for Class 10, with a 10% enhancement for Class 11 and 12.

All applications must be verified by the current school where the student is studying. Failure to verify the applications will result in rejection. The application processing is facilitated by the school where the candidate is currently enrolled.
