Delhi Government School Admission 2024 : Registration Started for Admission to Classes 6 to 9 in Government Schools

The Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi has initiated the registration process for admission to Classes 6 to 9 in government schools, starting April 8. Applications are accepted in three cycles—1, 2, and 3. The forms for cycle 1 can now be accessed on the DoE website—edudel.nic.in. The application window for the first cycle will close at 5 pm on April 17.
"This admission process is for fresh candidates only (non-plan admissions). Students currently enrolled in government and government-aided schools need to visit their schools for transfer or re-admission," stated DoE.
The Directorate of School Education, Government School of Delhi, has also released the annual school calendar for the 2024-25 academic year for all government and government-aided schools in the national capital. The next academic session will commence on April 1, 2025.
Important dates for Delhi Government School Admission 2024:

The DoE has specified that only parents and children residing in Delhi are eligible to apply for admission to classes six through nine at government schools under the non-plan scheme.
Information required for application forms:
- Personal details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, residential address, and details of the last school attended (if any).
- Aadhaar Number/UID of the child (optional).
- Bank account number of the child along with the name of the bank’s branch and IFSC (optional).
- Date of birth of the applicant.
- Mobile number of the parent.
Regarding the age limit for admission:
- For Class 6 admission, students should be between 10 and 12 years old.
- For Class 7 admission, students should be between 11 and 13 years old.
- For Class 8 admission, students should be between 12 and 14 years old.
- For Class 9 admission, students should be between 13 and 15 years old.
