MHT CET 2027: Both Exam Attempts to Be Held After Class 12 Boards, Check Details

According to reports, both attempts of MHT CET 2027 are expected to be conducted after the Class 12 board examinations. The Maharashtra government has decided to revise the earlier plan, under which the first attempt was scheduled for December 2026 and the second for April 2027.

Under the revised plan, both MHT CET 2027 attempts are expected to be held between March and May 2027. The change is aimed at giving students more time to focus on their Class 12 board examinations before appearing for the state-level entrance test.

Officials said the decision to move the first MHT CET attempt from December was taken after receiving feedback from different parts of Maharashtra. Parents and counsellors, especially from rural areas, had requested that both attempts be conducted after the board examinations.

The revised schedule is expected to reduce the pressure on students who need to prepare for both board exams and entrance tests at the same time. Students will be able to focus on their Class 12 syllabus first and then prepare for MHT CET.

MHT CET 2027: Four-Week Gap Between Two Attempts

As per the revised plan, the authorities are expected to maintain a gap of around four weeks between the two MHT CET 2027 attempts.

Students who appear for both sessions will have their best attempt considered for the admission process. This gives candidates an opportunity to improve their performance in the second attempt.

Why Are Two MHT CET Attempts Being Held?

The Maharashtra authorities decided to conduct MHT CET twice to give students more than one opportunity to perform well in the entrance examination. The format was also planned along similar lines to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which allows engineering aspirants to appear in multiple sessions.

For MHT CET 2026, the authorities conducted the examination twice, in April and May. For the 2027 cycle, the state had initially planned the first attempt in December 2026 and the second in April 2027.

The revised plan will shift both MHT CET 2027 examinations to the period after the Class 12 board exams. However, the exact examination dates are yet to be finalised in the information provided.
