As mentioned earlier, the NDA exam will be conducted in two shifts. It should be noted that entry to the exam hall will be closed 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam, i.e. at 9.50 am for the morning session and at 1.50 pm for the afternoon session. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam venue after the gate is closed
The detailed information about the NDA exam centres is given on the admit card. Candidates have to appear for the exam at the centre allotted to them.
NDA 2025 Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates can check the exam day guidelines for the NDA exam below.
➤ Candidates are advised to download their NDA admit card and take a printout of the same. Candidates must show the printout of their admit card along with a photo identity card at the allotted NDA exam centre.
➤ In case the photograph on the admit card is unclear or not available, candidates are advised to bring two identical photographs.
➤ No hard copy of the admit card is issued by the exam authority. In case of any discrepancy, candidates must immediately email the exam authority.
➤ Candidates are advised to reach their exam centres at least one day in advance to avoid last minute hassle.
➤ Candidates must reach the exam centre well in advance for admit card verification, frisking etc.
➤ Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to appear at any other exam centre except the one mentioned on the admit card. If candidates appear for the exam at any other venue for any reason, their candidature will be cancelled.

NDA Exam Day Guidelines 2025: What is Not Allowed
Candidates are not allowed to use mobile phones, pagers or any other electronic devices or programmable devices or storage media such as pen drives, smartwatches, cameras, Bluetooth devices. Candidates found carrying these items will not be allowed to appear for the exam and disciplinary action will be taken against them including ban from future exams.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices.
- Calculators, electronic devices and study material.
- Purse, handbag or any paper other than admit card.
Use of wristwatches is not permitted inside the exam hall.

NDA Exam Day Guidelines 2025: Things Allowed Inside the Exam Hall
Candidates are advised to bring a black ballpoint pen for filling up the attendance list and OMR sheet.
Answers other than those marked with a black ballpoint pen will not be evaluated
- Printed NDA Admit Card 2025.
- Original Government issued photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN or Passport).
- Two passport size photographs (same as uploaded in the application).
- Black ballpoint pen for marking answers on the OMR sheet.
Electronic Devices Policy
As per the NDA exam day guidelines, all types of electronic devices are prohibited inside the exam centre. UPSC enforces a zero-tolerance policy for digital devices to maintain the integrity of the exam.
- Do not carry smartphones, smartwatches, fitness bands, earphones or USB devices.
- There is no provision for storing personal belongings at the venue.
- Candidates are advised to leave all their valuables at home.
Dress Code for the NDA Exam at the Exam Center
- Wear formal shirt and trousers for boys; blouse with trousers or skirt for girls.
- Choose light or neutral colors like white, blue, or beige.
- Avoid jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, and casual jackets.
- Wear clean and polished formal shoes only.
- Dress comfortably to stay focused during the exam.
- Keep accessories and makeup minimal.
- Ensure clothes are clean, well-ironed, and properly fitted.
- Do not wear smartwatches or electronic wearables.
- Maintain a neat hairstyle and well-groomed appearance.
