NEET UG 2026 Retest: NTA Issues Advisory, Asks Students to Stay Calm and Avoid Rumours
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG 2026 retest on June 21. Ahead of the exam, NTA has issued an important advisory for candidates. The agency has asked students to stay calm, trust the exam process, and avoid sharing unverified information online.
NTA has confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be held as scheduled. Candidates have been advised not to believe rumours about postponement or changes in the exam. Students should check only official NTA updates for any important information.
In its message shared on X, NTA said that strong arrangements have been made for a safe, secure, and fair examination. The agency said it is working with ministries, state governments, and security agencies to ensure smooth conduct of the exam. It also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in malpractice.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also held a high-level review meeting before the NEET UG retest. He asked officials to ensure that the exam is conducted with full transparency and security. Officers from the Ministry of Education will be deployed across states to monitor the exam process.
NTA has also shared the NEET UG 2026 marking scheme and paper pattern. The exam will have 180 questions for 720 marks. Physics will have 45 questions, Chemistry will have 45 questions, and Biology will have 90 questions. Candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
As per the exam day instructions, entry to the exam centre will start at 11 AM. No candidate will be allowed to enter after 1:30 PM. Test booklets will be given at 1:45 PM. Candidates must carry their printed admit card, two passport-size photographs, and a valid government ID proof.
NTA has also asked parents, teachers, and students to avoid spreading rumours. The agency said students should stay focused, remain confident, and prepare calmly for the exam. Candidates who need emotional support can contact the MANAS mental health helpline at 14416.
