NEET UG 2026 Counselling Round 1 Registration Extended; Check Choice Filling & Locking Dates

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has changed the schedule for NEET UG 2026 counselling round 1. The registration will now continue till 2 PM on August 15, 2026. The candidates, who have not yet completed the process of registering themselves, can register via the official website of MCC that is mcc.nic.in.

The last date for making the payment of the counselling fees will also remain August 15, but the time will be extended to 5 PM.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has changed the schedule for NEET UG 2026 choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment result and reporting also. The process of choice filling or change of choice will be possible till August 17, 2026, 6 PM. The window for choice locking will remain open between 10 AM and 6 PM on August 17, 2026.

The NEET UG Round 1 seat allotment result 2026 will be announced on August 19, 2026. The candidates allotted the seats will have to report to their respective colleges during August 20 to August 25, 2026.

NEET UG 2026 Counselling Schedule Revised

Candidates can check the revised MCC NEET UG Round 1 counselling dates below:

Applicants must undertake the process of registering and paying the fees within the stipulated period. Those who have completed the registration process must pay attention to preparing and finalizing their college and course preferences.

NEET UG 2026 Registration Extended Till August 15

The MCC has further extended the NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 registration period till August 15. This means that candidates have the chance to register themselves up to 2 PM, while the deadline to pay the fee would be till 5 PM.

Candidates need to do both of these things to join the process of counselling. Otherwise, they would not be able to be a part of Round 1.

NEET UG 2026 Choice Filling and Locking Dates

The choice filling portal for NEET UG 2026 will be operational till 6 pm on August 17. The applicants can choose their desired colleges and courses of MBBS and BDS through the counselling portal provided by MCC.

Choice locking portal will be operational from 10 am to 6 pm on August 17.

The aspirants are advised to make arrangements of their choices in an actual manner as per their priority order. The candidates are also allowed to modify, delete and change their choices during the choice filling window period.

After locking their choices, the applicants are advised to verify all the chosen colleges and courses.

How to Register for NEET UG Counselling 2026?

The candidates need to do the following things to register for NEET UG 2026 counselling process:

• Navigate to the official website of MCC, which is http://mcc.nic.in/.
• Go to the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ page.
• Click on the ‘New Registration for UG Counselling 2026’ link.
• Fill up the relevant information of NEET UG and other details.
• Submit the registration form.
• Login with the credentials registered.
• Make payment of counselling fee through online mode.

How to Fill Choices in NEET UG 2026 Counselling?

Those candidates who have successfully finished the registration and payment of fees can move forward with the NEET UG choice filling 2026. Below are the steps to follow:

• Open the URL mcc.nic.in and the UG counselling portal.
• Sign in using the NEET UG counselling login details.
• Select the choice filling option.
• Make choices for the colleges and courses.
• Make a priority list of the choices in descending order.
• Make as many number of choices as desired.
• Carefully go through the choices made.
• Submit the choices between 10 AM to 6 PM on August 17.

The selection of the colleges must be done keeping in mind the NEET rank, category, preference of course, and past admission trends.

NEET UG Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026 on August 19

The seat allocation for round 1 by MCC will take place on August 18, 2026. The NEET UG 2026 round 1 seat allocation results will be announced on August 19, 2026.

Students can know their seat allocation status via the MCC counselling website. If a candidate gets his/her seat allocated, he/she needs to report and get admitted as per the MCC guidelines.

NEET UG Round 1 Reporting Dates 2026

Students allotted seats in Round 1 have to report at or join their allotted institutes from 20 August 2026 to 25 August 2026.

While reporting, students might have to go through document verification process, pay admission fees, and perform other joining formalities as specified by their allotted institutes.

The institutes will do data verification of the candidates joining them on 26 August 2026.
