CBSE 10th, 12th Practical Exams 2026: Winter Bound Schools Datesheet Out - Starts Nov 6

The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has released the datesheet for practical exams for winter session schools. According to an official circular dated October 16, practical exams, internal assessments, and projects for winter session schools will be conducted over a month-long period between November 6 and December 6.

Accordingly, practical examinations, projects, internal assessments for the session 2025-26 for classes 10 and 12 for winter schools will be held from November 6, 2025, to December 6, 2026, as such schools will remain closed in January 2026. Internal examinations for all other schools will be held from January 1, the CBSE said in the notice.

As per previous trends and similar to other schools, practical exams will begin on January 1, but since winter session schools remain closed in January, practical exams will be held in November-December. It is worth noting that practical and internal exams for all board students not studying in winter session schools will begin as usual on January 1, 2026.

CBSE Practical Exams 2026: Instructions for Schools

The Board has asked schools to take the following steps to ensure timely completion of practical examinations after the winter session:

• Prepare the final list of candidates and ensure that no student from the school whose name has not been submitted to the Board in the online LOC is allowed to appear in these practical examinations, projects, or internal assessments.
• Internal assessment for Class 10 will be conducted only once, so all schools should fill in the IA marks for all candidates within the stated timetable.
• Contact the regional office for the appointment of external examiners and supervisors.
• Ensure timely completion of examinations and submit practical exam answer sheets to the regional offices.
